Daytime closures of KY 542 in Breathitt County planned April 23-24

Drivers who use KY 542 in Breathitt County will need to plan to use an alternate route on Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23.The road will be closed during daytime hours for drilling to repair a break in pavement.

The road will be closed at milepoint 2.5 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. This location is 2.5 miles from KY 30.

No signed detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 30, KY 15, KY 1812, and Big Lovely Road as an alternate route. Motorists should plan their trips accordingly, as this is a lengthy detour.

Slightly more than 100 vehicles use this section of KY 542 each day.
