Student Arrested Due to Online Threats Against an Eastern Kentucky School District

On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, an Eastern Kentucky School District learns of threats made by a student and reports it to authorites, according to authorities.

Floyd County School District, located in Eastern Kentucky, beefed up security out of an abundance of caution on Monday morning, April 21, 2025 after a threat was made by a student that was taken into custody on Easter Sunday after making implicit threatening statements online while using another individual’s name. 

The Floyd County School District has stated that they would work closely with law enforcement.
