In reading I Chronicles 10:13, it’s interesting to note that (King) Saul died for his trespasses against the Lord; for his unfaithfulness in not keeping God’s word, and also, for consulting [a medium with] a spirit of the dead to inquire of it, and inquired not so of the Lord [in earnest penitence]. If you read I and II Samuel, as well as I Chronicles, you will see the struggles that went on and the resistance of Saul’s followers and David’s followers. Saul’s followers did not want David to be King of Israel, so there was opposition (but God had told the prophets Samuel to anoint David King. I Samuel 16:13)
So, now, Saul is dead and the tribes of Israel have begun to come over to David’s side. Of those who came, it’s interesting to note that at the tribe of Issachar, it says, “(they) men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do; of the tribe of Zebulun, men not of double purpose but stable and trustworthy.” V.38 (men)... came with a perfect and sincere heart… (men) of one mind to make David king. All of the previous verses somewhat remind me of the present day. Donald Trump IS president now! Whether you are Republican or you are Democrat, whether you like him or not! All the criticism, nit-picking, protesting is not good!
In I Timothy 2:1-2, in The Message Bible, it says it plainly, “Pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments (ours too) to rule well, so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation.” This is the way our Savior God wants us to live. The Amplified Bible says, “that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly,] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence in every way.”
