BEATTYVILLE, KY (May 11, 2026) – Firefly Hills, Kentucky, has been awarded a small-scale farm grant through the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF) at Kentucky State University. These funds will enable Firefly Hills to purchase a two-door display freezer, expanding its ability to offer frozen meats, ice cream, and other products sourced from small, local businesses. The freezer will serve as a dedicated retail space for locally produced goods, strengthening community partnerships and increasing access to regionally made products.
“As a small business, we’re proud to support other small businesses,” said Tonja Lesmeister, owner of Firefly Hills, Kentucky. “This freezer not only expands what we can offer our customers, but also gives us a chance to spotlight locally and regionally made products. We’re especially excited to feature vendors like Wildwood Farms and Crank & Boom Ice Cream.”
