Sandra Kay Coomer Spencer

Sandra Kay Coomer Spencer, 75, passed away on July 2, 2024, at the Kenwood Health and Rehabilitation Center located in Richmond, KY surrounded by her family. She was born on March 2, 1949, to the late Earnest and Martha Deaton Coomer at Oneida, Ky.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Richard) Lowe of Richmond, Ky; Grandchildren Joshua (Brittany) Spencer of Richmond, Ky, Emily (Michael) Pack of Springboro, Ohio, and Martha Lowe of Richmond, Ky; Great grandchildren Ruby and Mikey Pack, Owen Spencer; One brother, Donnie Gale (Wilma) Coomer of Lexington and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law Patricia (Tony) Spencer.

In addition to both her parents, she is preceded in death by the passing of her beloved son Tony (Patricia) Spencer of Beattyville, Ky; Sister Hazel (Virgil) Akers of Culleoka Tn, Brother Lowell (Lorena) Jewell of Hamilton Ohio, and sister Annalee (Carlisle) Moore of Beattyville, Ky. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Danny Ray Creech.

She was a member of the Wide Creek Community Church.

Sandra was always known for being a hard worker. She worked for 34 years at Lion Apparel. She loved to mow and weedeat, and took great pride in her garden and canning vegetables. She was also an avid seamstress and made many quilts. Her specialty in her later years was making baby quilts for all her friends’ children and grandchildren. She also loved birds, especially hummingbirds.

Pall bearers include Joshua Spencer, Richard Lowe, Nick Roberts, Jacob Sparks, Robert Bowman, Tim Brandenburg, Chris Coomer, Donald Coomer, and Odale Creech.

Services July 6th, 2024 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial; Rock of Ages Memorial Cemetery, Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
