Joyce Marie Solomon

Joyce Marie Solomon was born July 14th, 1940, in Black Water (Jackson County), KY.  She departed her earthly body on May 18th, 2025, in her residence in Beattyville, KY.  She was preceded in death by her parents George W. and Lena Hornsby, by her husband James Russell Solomon, by one brother Gordon Hornsby and one sister Brenda Parks. Joyce is survived by her four daughters, Kimberly Clark (Bryan) of NC, Tammy Westbrook of TN, Amy Cox (David) of McKee, and Melissa Noe (Jamie) of Beattyville.  She is also survived by two brothers Bobby Horsby (Von), Terry Hornsby (Mary Lynn), ten grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Joyce worked as Caron Spinning for seventeen years and Tyner Elementary as a grandparent in the Save Children Program for several years.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved being with her family.  She was devout Christian and a member of Letterbox Baptist Church. 

    Funeral Services held on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee with Brothers David Cox, Shane Gabbard, and William Owens. Burial will follow in the Clifton H. Vickers Cemetery in Gray Hawk, KY.   Pallbearers: James Noe, Cameron Noe, Logan White, Zachary Cox, J.D. Westbrook, Woody Collins. Honorary pallbearers: Isaac Cox, Justin Collins, Kager Fox. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
