A lawyer in Campbell County accused of stealing money from two estates she was managing pleaded guilty last week.

Jennifer Zaccheus-Miller, 40, was accused of stealing more than $200,000 while acting as an executor of two estates and then taking off.

In the middle of May, Campbell County police posted a flyer to their Facebook page stating that Zaccheus-Miller had not been seen since May 10. She was found the next day and was arrested at Red River Gorge.

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced Friday that Zaccheus-Miller has admitted to stealing the money and will be automatically and temporarily barred from practicing law.

According to court records, there were two theft cases, one that happened from May 2020 to April 2024 and the other from June 2023 to May 2024.

"This defendant took advantage of Kentuckians in their grief. It’s a shameful crime, and I’m grateful for the talented team of prosecutors who delivered justice for these victims and their families," Coleman said in a statement.

Zaccheus-Miller pleaded guilty in both cases and will be ordered to pay restitution. Coleman says theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 but under $1,000,000 is a Class C felony and carries a penalty of 5-10 years.

Zaccheus-Miller will be sentenced on April 16.
