One and only one among many verses I like is taken from KJV, Galatians 2;20 that ays, “I live by faith in the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me.” The Book of Hebrews gives us a list of faith filled people, here’s some of what is written in the Living Bible Paraphrased. Chapter 11; What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead. By faith- by believing God- we know that the world and the stars- in fact all things- were made at God’s command; and that they were all made from things that can’t be seen.

It was by faith that Abel obeyed God and brought an offering that pleased God more than Can’s offering. Enough trusted God too, and that is why God took him away to heaven without dying. You can never please God without faith, without depending on Him. Noah was another who trusted God, Abraham trusted God, obeyed Him, confidently waiting for God to bring him to that strong heavenly city whose builder and designer is God. Sarah, too had faith and because of this she was able to become a mother in spite of her old age. Abraham trusted God and His promise.

By faith, Jacob when he was old and dying, blessed Joseph’s two sons. Moses’ parents had faith too. The people of Israel trusted God and went through the Red Sea and dry ground. By faith, Rahab, the harlot believed in God and His power and so many others. Gidean and Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and other prophets.

Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, lets us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Let God train you, for He is doing what any loving Father does for His child. Seek to live a holy, clean life. Since we have a kingdom nothing can destroy, let us please God by serving Him with thankful hearts, and with holy fear and awe. So, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. I am not going to go back on that!
