Our very own "The Local Honeys" Set to Perform in Charleston, SC

February 15, 2025

Lee County native, Montana Hobbs along with Linda Jean Stokley make up the musical duo "The Local Honeys' are bringing it back to the South, and they are set to perform in Charleston, South Carolina at the Charleston Pour House on April 13th.

Hobbs and Stokley come from a long line of storytellers and a lineage of strong Kentucky women that aren’t afraid to tell it like it is.

With their self-titled La Honda Records (Colter Wall, Riddy Arman, Vincent Neil Emerson) debut, the duo have mastered the art of telling a good story, while pushing the envelope within the traditions they hold dear.

Carefully crafted vignettes of rural Kentucky soar above layers of deep grooves and rich tones, creating the most nuanced, moody, deep-holler sound the duo have captured to date.

Masterfully curated by Grammy nominated producer Jesse Wells and joined by Tyler Childers’ band The Food Stamps - Rod Elkins (percussion) Craig Burletic (bass) and Josh Nolan (guitar) from Clay City, KY, the Local Honeys is a celebration of real deal, honest-to-god Kentucky music.

With their latest release the duo are poised to become not only the defining voices of their home state of Kentucky but the defining voices of a new Appalachia.

These Kentucky ladies travel the world giving others a glimpse of Appalachia and their love for the hills of Kentucky through their muisic.
