Missing Wolfe County Veteran Found, the Family Now Mourns His Passing

Authorities reported on January 31, 2025, that Wolfe County resident, Terry Powell was missing. 

Powell was last seen on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Big Bend area of Zachariah, KY, near Lee, Powell, and Wolfe Counties' lines. 

They had asked, at the time, if he was seen, to not approach Powell, but call Wolfe County Dispatch.

Powell was found on Monday, February 3, 2025, but no details were given at the time, other than Mr. Powell had been found.

It was later determined that Mr. Powell had passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025. When on the timeline of him missing, being found, and then passing away; it is not specified.

According to Mr. Powell's obituary, he was a US Air Force Veteran that enjoyed nature, being outdoors, and tending to his flower garden. He loved people, and he especially loved all his nieces and nephews.
