VIRGINIA RUTH WITT GROSS, the wife of Charles Edward Gross of Beattyville, Kentucky, and the daughter of the late Elvin Herald and Dosha Howard Witt, was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on January 9, 1934, and departed this life in Beattyville on July 24, 2024, at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 15 days. Mrs. Gross was a retired seamstress from several businesses and a homemaker.
In addition to her husband Charles, Mrs. Gross is survived by two daughters, Kathy G. Hensley of Wooton, Kentucky and Mitzi North of Staten Island, New York; two grandchildren, Cheyanna Rice and husband Richard, and Lonnie Shane Napier all of Hyden, Kentucky; a host of great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Witt of Hyden; two sisters, Wanda Click and Gladys Prater both of Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Gross was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Theresa Spring; a brother, William Witt; and a great granddaughter, Isabella Napier.
