The Unfolding By the late Betty Crabtree

Yes, I’m stuck on the following verse from the book of Ecclesiastes. Verse 11 in chapter 3 goes as follows, (the Amplified Bible)

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”

We often assume we know what some words in the bible mean, for instance, ‘everything beautiful’. We know that we humans do not ‘see’ everything as beautiful. Have you ever seen a picture of a rockfish? U….gly. Apes or gorillas aren’t too pretty either. Our perception of beauty is visual, but what about beautiful music, beautiful poetry, what about the things that we can’t verbalize, yet we think are beautiful? And then there is the account of God creating creation in chapter 1 of genesis, and in verse31 it says, “And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely… (Things He made, not mans creations and messes).

I guess the answer to my question or my musings is summed up in Revelation 4:11 (KJV) “Thou art worth, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou has created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
