Marie Allen, age 84, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at her home in Booneville, KY. Marie was born December 18, 1938 in Manchester, KY, a daughter to the late Charlie Hensley & Mary Jane (Moberly) Hensley. She was a homemaker, and in her free-time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved her family, and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She was a member of the Island City Baptist Church.
Along with her husband of 53 years; Jack Allen, she is survived by 3 special grandsons; Jason, Willie, and Christopher Barrett, great-grandchildren: Lexi & Allie Barrett, 2 sisters; Phyllis Hensley & Margaret Davidson, 4 brothers; Ambrose Hensley, Junior Hensley, Ronnie Sester, and Randy Taylor, along with many other loving family members and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son; Darrell Wayne Barrett, and 1 sister, who was her mother figure; Birdie Taylor.
A memorial service was held in her memory on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Island City Baptist Church in Island City, KY, officiated by Pastor Keith Murray.
