The Lee County Bobcats’ run in the 14th Regional Tournament came to a close on March 5, 2026, at the BHS Coliseum in Jackson, but the final score of 52–65 does not define the heart, determination, and pride this team carried all season long.
For LCMHS Senior Jared Lucas, the game marked the final chapter of his high school basketball career. Lucas left everything on the court, embodying the grit and leadership that has inspired teammates and fans alike. His dedication to the Bobcats program will be remembered long after the final buzzer.
He was joined by an outstanding group of teammates who made this season one to remember: Corey Flinchum — who etched his name in history with an incredible 3,000 career points — Carter Begley, Elijah Caudill, Cage Coler-Dark, Grant Cundiff, Brent Davis, Canaan Donathan, Casey Duncil, Mason Howard, Skylar Johnson, Casey Short, and Christopher Thompson. Together, they battled through a demanding schedule and earned their place among the region’s best.
Though the tournament ended in defeat, the Bobcats’ journey showcased teamwork, perseverance, and school pride at its finest. From electrifying plays to hard-fought defensive stands, this group gave Lee County fans countless moments to cheer for and memories to treasure.
Lee County stands proudly behind these young men — not because of wins or losses, but because of the character they displayed every time they wore the maroon and white. Their effort, sportsmanship, and unity reflect the very best of Bobcat basketball.
Thank you, Jarad Lucas and the entire Bobcats team, for a season filled with passion, pride, and unforgettable moments. Also, we look forward to Corey Flinchum continuing to break records, along with the up and coming players that will continue to strive to be a history maker too.
Your community is proud of all of you — yesterday, today, and always.
