Janie Ruth McIntosh Bowling
89, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky following a short illness. Janie was born October 16, 1935 in Newport, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Laura Roberts McIntosh. Janie was a homemaker, member of the Booneville Presbyterian Church and a Honorable Kentucky Colonel. Janie is survived by her son Mr. Wes "Sena" Bowling of Davison, Michigan, two daughters Mrs. Deborah "Doug" Ledonne of Villa Hills, Kentucky, Mrs. Melissa "Curtis" King of Winchester, Kentucky, six grandchildren Matthew, Makayla, Peyton, Beth, Joey and Casey, six great-grandchildren Shelby, Harper, Aiden, Hadley, Mackenzie and Parker, one sister Mrs. Joan Garrett of Booneville, Kentucky, brother-in-law Mr. Samuel Bowman of Beattyville, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Steve and Laura Roberts McIntosh, her husband Dannie B. Bowling, her son Dannie Fred Bowling, granddaughter Paige and sister Helen Bowman.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Booneville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be Friday, August 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jamie Brunk officiating. Burial will follow at the Esau-Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, Kentucky. Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
