Paul Wayne Wathen, husband of Judy Parks Collins Wathen and son of the late Andrew Boyd Wathen and Geraldine McGuire Bowman was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 24, 1955 and departed this life at his home in Beattyville, Kentucky on November 30, 2025 at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 6 days. He was a Shriner and he retired from Kentucky Petroleum Supply after working 30 years as a service technician. Paul Wayne loved camping and being outdoors, cherishing every moment with his family and friends. He found true joy in the laughter and togetherness of the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the bonds he strengthened, the love he gave so freely, and the joy he found in simply being together. His spirit will continue to shine in every family gathering and in every life he touched with kindness. In addition to his beloved wife, Judy, Paul Wayne is survived by a daughter, Kristy Pyles and husband Tom; two sons, Robert Parks and wife Jaimie and Shannon Parks; his grandchildren, Logan, Eric, Anastasia, Jaden, Christopher, Kaleb, and Joel; two sisters, Janice Stephens and husband Allan of Florence, Kentucky and Emily Wilson of Crittenden, Kentucky; and a host of several other special grandchildren, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Wathen and Geraldine Bowman; his step-father, Willard Bowman; a brother, Archie Boyd Wathen; a son, Shawn Parks; and one grandson, Austin Slone.
Visitation Saturday December 6th, 2025 at Newnam Funeral Home noon to 2pm. Funeral service to follow visitation at 2pm. Burial; Collins Cemetery of Bell Pt Rd, Lee County. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
