Franklin Delano Cornett

Franklin Delano Cornett, the son of the late John and Arizona Branson Cornett and step-mom Goldie Cornett, and widower of the late Carolyn Brandenburg Cornett, was born in Viper, Kentucky on January 3, 1933 and deceased this life in Beattyville at his home on September 21, 2024 at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 18 days.

       He is survived by his current wife, Phyllis Brown Cornett of Burnside, Kentucky; a son, John Cornett and wife Carrie of Beattyville; and two daughters, Teresa Thomas and husband Garett of Beattyville and Gina Bean and husband Jon of Richmond; 9 grandchildren, Cara Cornett Stamper, Maleah Thomas McIntosh, Emily Land Gross, Natalie Land Lainhart, Adam Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Hallie Land, Morgan Bean, and Samantha Bean; and 13 great grandchildren, Levi, Branson, Larkon and Kelton Stamper, Blue and Sunny Lainhart, Henry Gross, Adalynn and “Lyla Jane” Thomas, Miles McIntosh, and Harleigh, Ian, and Elliana Bean.
   Frank was a member of the Beattyville First Church of God and previous member of the Beattyville Christian Church. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, then was a devoted educator for many years. He was happiest working on his farm and spending time with his family. He especially loved having a grandbaby in his lap and his family in his home.
      Services held at Beattyville First Church of God on Thursday, September 25, 2024 with Bro. Garett Thomas officiating. Burial  followed at the Brandenburg Cemetery.
