James D. Green,

James D. Green, age 75, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hospital, located in Lexington, KY. James was born September 8, 1948 in Oneida, KY, a son to the late George & Bessie (Shepherd) Green. He was teacher with the Owsley County School System for nearly 40 years, as well as a Veteran of the United States Army. James truly loved his family, and his school system.

  He is survived by 3 sons; Jim (Denise) Green, Paul (Shellean) Green, and Shaun (Becky) Green, 1 daughter; Reagan Coomer, 1 brother; Sam Green, 1 sister; Sharon Gipson, life partner; Betsy Coomer, 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members & friends.

  Along with his parents; George & Bessie Green, he was preceded by his wife; Sharon Green, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

  Funeral services Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. J. Jamison Brunk officiating. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
