Jackie Longworth,

Jackie Longworth, 81, passed away peacefully at the Lake Cumberland Hospital on September 7, 2024. He was born in Lee County in Beattyville Kentucky on April 23,

1943.
   He lived in Lee County until he was 17 years old and moved to Middletown, Ohio where he started to work for ARMCO Steel. He was a very dedicated employee for 35 years and 2 months. His profession was a Welder. After retiring, he moved back and fulfilled his dream of living on his childhood property where he was raised. He called it, His little piece of heaven. Sadly in 2019 he became disabled and spent the last 5 years in The Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, KY. He had wonderful care there and enjoyed cutting up and joking with the residents and his healthcare team.
He had many accomplishments in his 81 years. He was first and foremost a E4 Marine.
Ranking as a Corporal. He was very proud of that and served his country in the Vietnam War earning a purple heart. He was also a member of the VFW, The American Legion, The Shriners Oleika Temple, The Free Masons, and The Moose Lodge. He was proud to be associated with each of those organizations in Middletown, Ohio and Beattyville, KY. He had five children. Sons - Ronald (Middletown, OH) and Teddy (Beattyville, KY) and daughters Tammy (Winchester, KY) , Rebecca (Middletown, OH) , and Chanda (Middletown, OH). 13 Grandchildren Brittany, Brandy, Ronald Jr, Justin, Christina, Bethany, Shianne, Alex, Marissa, Cameron, Marcus, Megan, and Ashley, and 13 Great- Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Mother Grace, Father Ronald, Son Teddy, 1 Grandchild, 1 Great-Grandchild, and a Son-In-Law Nathan. He was known for his love of riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and always had one close by to ride anytime he felt like riding which was a lot before he became disabled.
   He also had lots of special dogs in his life that he loved with a passion. His dogs loved him equally and were always well-behaved and loyal to him. Jackie will be missed by his family but know he is now in a place where he will not have to suffer anymore. Rest In Peace Dad, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. You will never be forgotten.
Services were held at Newnam Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 with Bro. Elmer Ray Mays officiating. Burial followed in the Roach Cemetery. Military funeral honors were performed by the United States Marine Corps and DAV Ch. 165, McKee, KY. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
