Charles Dwayne Watts, husband of Marlena Hatton Watts and the son of Charlie Watts and the late Mary Ellen Arrowood Watts was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on September 24, 1956, and departed this life in Richmond, Kentucky on August 22, 2024, at the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 28 days. He was a member of the Providence Pentecostal Church in Jackson, Kentucky and a former Tamper Operator for CSX Railroad.
In addition to his father, Charlie Watts of Jackson, Kentucky and his wife, Marlena Watts of Beattyville, Kentucky, Charles is survived by his two sons, Jason Watts and wife Rita of Irvine, Kentucky and Joshua Watts and wife Kaylee of Booneville, Kentucky; a grandson, Dakota Watts of Waco, Kentucky; a step-grandson, Tyler Johnson of Irvine, Kentucky; brothers and sisters, Patsy Watts, Faye Maggard, Susie Rudd, Becky Curtis, Audrey Hammonds, Michael, Ralph, and Timothy Watts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Watts; and one sister, Barbara Blankenship.
Services held Sunday, Aug. 25th, 2024 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial in Hatton Cemetery of Estes Ridge Rd, Lee Co.
Pallbearers; Mike, Tim and Ralph Watts, Gary Curtis, David Rudd and Clarence Maggard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Hatton, Sr., Sam Hatton, Jr., Derek Gabbard, Keith Smith and Jordan Bellamy. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
