Elva Arnold Cornett,

Elva Arnold Cornett, the loving wife and widow of Eddie Ray Cornett of Beattyville, Kentucky and the daughter of the late James Arnold and Anna Thomas Arnold Sizemore, was born in Lee County, Kentucky on February 4, 1937 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on August 9, 2024 at 87 years, 6 months and 5 days. 

     She was an excellent wife, Mother, cook, and loving member of the Delvinta Church of Christ. Mrs. Cornett was preceded in death by her husband in November 2020, by one sister, Dorothy Arnold Snowden Shutts and her parents. She is survived by two children, Cathy Cornett Branson (Hershel) of Beattyville and James Hunter Cornett (Cathy) of Lexington, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Tyler Seth Branson(Brierly), Alexandra Caitlin Cornett Cabrera (Victor) and Anderson Hunter Cornett, all of Lexington; four great grandchildren, Liam Riley Branson, Mila Skylar Branson, Jacoby Reese Branson, and Colton Hunter Cabrera, all of Lexington; three brothers, Lester Arnold(Joyce), Sam Arnold (Anita), Bill Arnold (JoAnne) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    Services held August 12th, 2024 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial in Rock of Ages Cemetery of Lee Co. Newnam Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
