Louisville Orchestra Visits Beattyville as Part of Their "In Harmony" Tour Throughout the Commonwealth
The fall 2023 portion of the Louisville Orchestra’s “In Harmony Tour: An Evening with Teddy Abrams, Chris Thile, and Friends” came to Beattyville last night and performed at the Happy Top Amphitheater, many thanks the Beattyville/Lee County Tourism Commission, and Senate President Robert Stivers.
“I was fortunate enough to have an early exposure to the arts,” said Senate Stivers. “Inviting the Louisville Orchestra, Kentucky’s premier musical ensemble, for performances around the commonwealth was the right way to expose as many Kentuckians as possible to musical flair, and to develop an appreciation for the arts and the doors it can open for the young and the young at heart.”
Murray, Kentucky’s own mandolinist extraordinaire, the acclaimed Chris Thile, joined the Louisville Orchestra’s multi-talented Music Director and Conductor Teddy Abrams for the extraordinary evening of musical collaboration.
This ground-breaking initiative allowed the Louisville Orchestra musicians and staff to meet people where they are and explore the arts through musical and educational collaborations with local musicians, artists, schools, and community organizations. This was made possible by a beautifully organized reception by Beattyville/Lee County Tourism that followed. It was a wonderful way to end an enchanted evening.
