Dale Callahan

Dale Callahan, age 92, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away on July 4, 2024 at his

residence. Mr. Callahan was a former teacher, Owsley County High School Principal, successful businessman and cattle farmer.

Mr. Callahan was born June 3, 1932 in Owsley County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Jim and Ruby Marshall Callahan.

Mr. Callahan is survived by his wife Mrs. Virginia Begley Callahan of 62 ½ years

of Booneville, Kentucky, two sons Mr. David Callahan and Mr. Craig Callahan of

Booneville, Kentucky, two grandsons Mr. Dillon “Angie” Callahan and Mr. Dalton Callahan of Booneville,Kentucky, one granddaughter Miss Hunter Callahan of Booneville, Kentucky, three grand grandchildren Corbyn, Casyn and Kiley, his sister Mrs. Judy “Harold” Terry of Booneville, Kentucky, one brother-in-law Mr, Bob Gay of Hamilton, Ohio, one sister-in-law Mrs. Celcia Begley of Richmond, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews Adam, Neil, Robbie, Eric, Terri, Lisa, Jimmy and Beverly, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Ruby Marshall Callahan, two

sisters Dixie Gilpin and Dessie Gay, two brother-in-laws George Begley and Don Gilpin.

Funeral services for Mr. Callahan was held Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Officiating the service was the Brother Rob Morgan. Burial followed in the Callahan Family Cemetery.
