Mary Lynn Sanders Cornett,

Mary Lynn Sanders Cornett, widow of Larry Wayne Cornett and daughter of the late James and Lillian Bruner Sanders was born in Corbin, Kentucky on September 10, 1957 and departed this life in London, Kentucky on June 8, 2024 at the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 28 days. She

was a member of the Beattyville Christian Church and a former cafeteria manager for the Laurel County Board of Education.

Mrs. Cornett is survived by three sons, Colonel John Wayne Cornett and wife Colonel Megan Cornett of

Albuquerque, New Mexico; James Stuart Cornett of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Jerry Lee Cornett and wife Dr.

Heather Dufour of Berea, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Kylie and Jacob Cornett of Berea, Kentucky, Brayan Cornett of Minot, North Dakota, and Mason and Lucy Cornett of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two brothers, Glenn Sanders of Corbin, Kentucky and Jim “Homer” Sanders of Berea, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, friend and follower of Christ. There is nothing she loved more than her boys and grandchildren. Mary was married for 45 years to her soulmate, whom she is now reunited with in Heaven. She truly cared for others and was always

willing to help anyone in need. Mary enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, collecting antiques, decorating, and

spending time with her family and friends. Mary was surrounded by loved ones, as she departed this world. She

will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held at the Beattyville Christian Church on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 2 PM with James Cornett and Rev. Ken Ward officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 PM. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
