Ava (Childers) Carpenter, age 70, widow of Robert Carpenter, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Ava was born March 28, 1953, in Jackson, KY a daughter to the late Ishmael and Lillian (Trent) Childers. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Hopewell Church of God in Beattyville. She is survived by 1 son; Dustin (Nickia) Carpenter of Beattyville, KY, 1 daughter in law Janice Troy of Jackson, KY, 3 brothers; John Childers of Campbellsville, KY, Mike Childers of Gratis, OH, Jerry (Stephany) Childers of Hamilton, OH, 2 sisters; Judy Moore and Darlene (Steve) Combs both of Gratis, OH, 4 grandchildren; Tyler Troy, Ellie, Weston, and Tatum Carpenter, 1 great grandchild; Jayden Troy, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members and friends. Ava was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, 2 sons; Raymond Troy and Paul Michael Troy, 1 brother; Joe Childers; and 2 infant sisters. Funeral services January 8, 2024 at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Spencer officiating. Burial Childers Family Cemetery located in the Wide Creek Community of Lee County. The Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
