Shelby Gene Davis,

Shelby Gene Davis, widower of Joy Ann Smith Davis and son of the late Casey and Gladys Thomas Davis was born in Primrose, Kentucky on July 13, 1938 and departed this life at his home in Primrose on December 13, 2023 at the age of 85 years and 5 months. He was a Carpenter by trade and attended the New Springs Methodist Church. Shelby is survived by three children, Alicia Liesegang, Aaron Davis both of Beattyville, Kentucky and Adam Davis and wife Francis of Booneville, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Derick, Bethany, and Patrick Davis, Eli Gibson, Meghan and Logan Williams, and Bret and Shelby M. Davis; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ginger Yaksich and Maryetta Spencer both of Dayton, Ohio, and Winna Mae Daughterty of Ft. Myers, Florida; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Davis of Beattyville, Kentucky; a special friend, Ola Creech of Beattyville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Shelby was preceded in death by two brothers, Kerney and Bruce Davis; and two grandchildren, Brittney and Jesse Davis. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
