Betty Coomer Brandenburg

Betty Coomer Brandenburg, widow of Howell Brandenburg and daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Stamper Coomer was born in Canyon Falls, Kentucky on November 20, 1935 and departed this life at her home in Beattyville, Kentucky on March 26, 2025 at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 6 days. Mrs. Brandenburg retired after 27 years, working as a Lee County Elementary School Cook. She was also a member of the Pinecrest Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Mrs. Brandenburg is survived by a daughter, Edna Joyce Tipton; a daughter-in-law, Linda Brandenburg; two grandchildren, Kevin Riley (Danielle) and Miranda Akers; one great-granddaughter, Shayla Akers; and a host of other relatives and friends.

  In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brandenburg was preceded in death by her son, Irvie Brandenburg; brothers and sisters, Hubert, Sam, Willis, Carl, and Ruby Coomer, Beulah Palmer, and Ruth Bowman; and a very special son-in-law, Rudy Tipton.

    Services held March 29, 2025 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial held in Brandenburg Cemetery of Bell Point, Lee Co. KY. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
