More than $2 million in FEMA assistance for Kentucky families

FRANKFORT, KY – In one week, homeowners and renters in 11 Kentucky counties have received more than $2 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help them recover from the February flooding, and more assistance may be available for those who apply and meet eligibility requirements.
     FEMA may assist eligible applicants with rental assistance, basic home repair costs, and other disaster-related needs.
     Homeowners and renters in Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Lee, Letcher, Martin, Owsley, Perry and Pike counties can apply in several ways:

     Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 . Assistance is available in most languages. If you use a relay service, such as a video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone, or other service, provide FEMA with your relay service number.
     Visit a Disaster Recovery Center.
     The Kentucky Division of Emergency Management and FEMA have opened Disaster Recovery Centers in Perry and Pike counties to provide disaster resources. More centers are planned.

     Hours are 7am to 7pm Monday through Saturday and 1pm to 7pm on Sunday. The deadline to apply is April 25, 2025.
