Leona Burton Snowden

Leona Burton Snowden, 89, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by her family while at the Heartford House under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky.
Born Oct. 23, 1935, in Beattyville, Kentucky, she was one of twelve children born to the late Thomas Henry and Stella Caroline Burton. Leona graduated from Lee County High School as Valedictorian of her class. She was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family. She would make clothing for her daughters in previous years and never failed to make sure you were fed, both attributes to her loving nature. Leona enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and spending time with those she loved most of all.
In addition to her parents, Leona is preceded in death by several beloved brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Sherryll Roberts (Ricky) and Sabrina Ebelhar (Terry); grandchildren, Matt Roberts (Ashley), Brittany Roberts, Alexa Ingalls (Ryan), Elizabeth Hayden (Roger), and Andy Ebelhar; great grandchildren, Caleb Register and Memphis Roberts; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her grand fur babies, Tucker, Lillie, and Arabella.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathen’s Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. All other services will be private.
