The Kentucky River Musky Classic Going On Now
February 28, 2025

The annual Kentucky River Musky Classic is taking place, as we speak, and will continue on through Saturday, March 1st.
The event, organized by the Kentucky River Musky Classic Chapter 52, is a fly fishing competition at the headwaters of the South, Middle, and North Forks of the Kentucky River.
Muskellunge are a popular game fish in the Kentucky River and its tributaries. They are a large, predatory fish that are similar in appearance to grass pickerel, but much larger. They like to prowl around river mouths where the water is flowing

There will be approximately 150 anglers expected to compete. Some will even be angling in the Beattyville/Lee County area at the boat ramps at Pool 13 and Pool 14.
A healthy Lee County requires great community news.
