February 16, 2025

The Kentucky River at Heidelberg is currently at 24.0 feet and is expected to crest at 26.7 feet this evening, surpassing the flood stage of 20.0 feet.

The city of Beattyville has been evacuated due to high water. They have two swift water rescue teams available including Lee County Search and Rescue.

Due to flooding, Main Street is now closed to all traffic. Please, take the following precautions:
 • Avoid the Area: Do not attempt to travel on Main Street or any flooded roads.
 • Emergency Assistance: If you require immediate help, please call 911.
 • Safety First: Do not enter areas that appear flooded or unstable.
Please follow all instructions from local authorities and stay safe.
The City of Beattyville is also asking that due to the tremendous amount of rainfall causing power outages to some of our pump stations, that all water customers, beginning from the end of the bridge going out of Beattyville up Procter Hill towards Booneville, to be conservative with water use.  The City is unsure of when they can restore power to these pump stations.

All known necessary Beattyville residents have been evacuated and are currently safe.
