Eastern Kentucky Woman Wins $1 Million Jackpot Scratch-Off

A Montgomery County woman of Jeffersonville on the northern border of Eastern Kentucky, has won $1 million scratch-off instantly after purchasing a $20 Kentucky Jackpot ticket according to the Kentucky Lottery on February 10th.

The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, thought she would just win her $20 back. When she first read the scratch-off, she thought is read "$100", but then noticed the comma and the other zeros according to the lottery officials. 

She, then, returned back to the Shell Mart where she purchased the ticket to confirm the win, not believing her eyes.

After the confirmation from the clerk that she did indeed win $1 million dollars, her and her boyfriend headed to the Kentucky Lottery Headquarters in Louisville to collect here winnings. 

She opted for the lump sum payment of $680,000. After taxes, she ended up taking home a check for $489,000, according to lottery officials.
