Alice Himes

Alice Himes, age 80, passed away January 14, 2025 at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY. Alice was born August 13, 1944 in Hamilton, OH, a daughter to the late Milford Durham, and Mildred (Smith) Durham. She was a reading tutor, working with Save the Children for the past 12 years.
She was a member of the White Harvest Holiness Church. When she wasn’t teaching, she enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, cooking, taking care of her home, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by 3 sons; Roy Joseph (Robin) Himes of Booneville, KY, Samuel James Himes of Tyner, KY, Austin Himes of McKee, KY, 2 daughters; Roena (Ronnie Wayne) Gabbard of Charleston, SC, and Dorraina (David) Hacker of Booneville, KY, 2 brothers; Calvin (Phyllis) Durham of Centerville, IN, and David (Mary) Durham of Lillian, Texas, 8 grandchildren; Ashley, Kayla, Megan, Jonathan, Nicholas, Sarah, Emily, and Josie, 11 great-grandchildren; Charity, Autumn, James, Oliver, Abigail, Peyton, Elijah, Tatum, Noah, Everleigh, and Chasen, as well as many other family members, and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Roy Himes, 1 daughter; Amanda Rose, 3 brothers; Paul, Edward, and Andrew, and 1 grandchild; Candace Faye.
Funeral services held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Son and Pastor Joe Himes officiating. She was laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery located in Booneville, KY. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
