Versie Lawson McIntosh,

Versie Lawson McIntosh, daughter of the late Banford and Zillie Brandenburg Lawson was born September 16, 1928 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on November 6, 2024 at the age of 96 years, 1 month, and 20 days. She married James H. McIntosh in 1951 whom preceded her in death on June 10, 1998. Versie was a wife, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, friend, and neighbor. 

   She worked beside her husband managing the farm for many years. She worked hard, whether it was taking care of the cattle, raising the big garden, making big meals, or beautiful quilts. She was a loving and caring influence in the lives of many nieces and nephews until her passing. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mabel Wolfe, Eva Couch, Alma Cole, Josephine Williams, Melissa Hercamp, Etta Shackelford, and Letha Alvey; and brothers, Gentry Lawson, Ova Lawson, and Boyd Lawson.

Versie leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends Darlene and Renee Coomer and Benny Todd to cherish her memory.

   Logan Johns, Benny Todd, Phillip Wolfe, and Sam Watterson will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Berry Jackson. Services held Nov. 9th, 2024 at Day Cemetery of Lee County prior to burial. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
